Dating in Scotland – Dumfries and Galloway

Dumfries and Galloway is one of the 12 Scottish regions and is a wonderfully picturesque area of the south of Scotland and the Scottish Borders, that so many people ignore as they drive up to Glasgow, the Scottish Isles and the Highlands.

The undulating coastline of both rocky and sandy beaches is captivating and further inland are acres of green pastures and areas of forestry. There is also a rich history associated with the area and strong, traditional links to Ireland. Dumfries is the administrative centre of the region with a population of 33,470, with Stranraer the second largest town, located 76 miles to the west on the North Channel coast.

The region was created in when the historic counties of Dumfriesshire, Kirkcudbrightshire and Wigtownshire combined in 1975 to form the new single region, becoming known as Dumfries and Galloway from 1996. Other notable locations are Newton Stewart, Locharbriggs, Annan, Lockerbie, Dalbeattie, Castle Douglas, Kirkcudbrightshire and Gretna.

Dumfries and Galloway is however an area of quite sparse population and that makes it tricky for single people to meet potential partners and therefore a dating agency such as Country Partners can be a sought after solution to meeting others.

What We Do

Personal Matchmaking has been around in the UK since the early 1700’s when the first commercial matrimonial bureau opened its doors in London in 1705, so even before the United Kingdom came into being.

In recent times however, since the turn of the new millennium, online dating and more recently smartphone apps have held sway, but gradually there has been a decline in the number of users of online users, as safety concerns around fake profiles and scammers have been increasing and the public has become aware of these problems. So a traditional, face to face service such as that provided by Country Partners has become more sought after and people have joined in significant numbers.

Our initial enquiries are usually handled by one of our Membership Adviser team, Jenny, Zoe and Tracey, who are all happy to provide information without cost, so you can evaluate how we operate and whether or not the service provided by Country Partners could be for you.  There is never any pressure to join or hard sell, our aim is always to provide potential members with just enough information to enable them to decide themselves whether or not our service might be beneficial.

The Matchmaking Process

If you feel what Country Partners offer is for you, the next step after deciding to join, would be to meet our Client Registration team of Vicky and Alison. Our onboarders will then arrange your interview and the building of your profile, provide advice on which photographs to use and take you smoothly through the background checks necessary to become a member.

The next part of the process would usually be your profiling interview, either with one of our membership advisers or matchmakers and one you are happy with your profile, the exciting part of your membership will commence, with introductions to others from our extensive database and the start of your dating journey.

Your matchmaker will usually work with you throughout your membership and will mentor and guide you throughout your involvement with Country Partners. Hopefully onto the path of meeting someone very special and finding true love.
